What we collect, who gets it, and how you say no.
§01Plain-language summary
QuoteBlock (“QB,” “we”) runs quoteblock.shop. You can read it without giving us anything. If you request quotes, we collect what you enter and, with your consent, hand it to independent insurance partners. Below: exactly what, why and what you can do about it.
§02Data we collect
- Form data: name, phone, email, address/ZIP, vehicle details, driver details, current coverage, and your consent record (timestamp, IP, consent wording).
- Automatic data: IP address, device/browser, pages and clicks, referring site, approximate location, cookie identifiers.
- Data from partners and vendors: verification, fraud and analytics signals, and confirmation of lead status.
§03What we do with it
Run and secure the site; deliver your request to partners; verify that requests are real; analyse and improve the site and our advertising; answer your messages; keep records the law requires.
§04Who gets it
Partners: insurance carriers, licensed agents, brokers, lead networks and marketers, as listed on the Partners page (which can change). They use your data under their own policies. Vendors: hosting, analytics, communications, fraud tools and similar. Legal/transaction: authorities where required, and a successor if QB is sold or merged. Sharing with partners for marketing can be a “sale” or “share” under some state privacy laws; see §07 for opting out.
§05Calls, texts and email (TCPA)
If you check the consent box on the form, you give express written consent for QB and the partners we pass your request to to contact you at the phone number and email you entered, by calls, text messages and email, including with automatic telephone dialing systems and artificial or prerecorded voices, about auto insurance. You don’t have to consent to buy anything. Message and data rates may apply; frequency varies. Revoke any time: reply STOP, tell the caller, use the unsubscribe link, or email us (§12). Calls may be recorded.
§06Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar tech for basic site operation, remembering preferences, analytics and ad measurement. Turn cookies off in your browser if you prefer, but some features may break. We treat Global Privacy Control as an opt-out of sale/sharing where the law says we must.
§07Your rights (CCPA/CPRA and others)
Depending on your state you can ask to know what we collect, use and disclose; access or port your data; correct it; delete it; opt out of sale/sharing; and limit use of sensitive information, without retaliation. Email us (§12). We’ll verify who you are, may act through an authorised agent, and respond within the legal deadline. You may be able to appeal a refusal.
§08Opt-out and suppression
Tell any partner to stop. Tell us too and we’ll add your details to our suppression list and pass the request to partners where we can. Service messages about a request you made may continue.
§09Retention and security
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or anonymise it. We use reasonable safeguards. No system is bulletproof, so we can’t promise absolute security.
§10Kids
QB is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If we learn we have, we delete it.
§11Other sites
We may link to partner or third-party sites. Their rules are theirs. Read them.
§12Changes
We can update this policy. The date at the top changes when we do. Keep using the site after that and you accept the update.
